We are seeking a seasoned Head of Property and Asset Management with a strong background in industrial property to lead a small team in managing our extensive property portfolio across Australia. This is a multifaceted role that requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills to contribute to business discussions, negotiate commercial lease outcomes, and identify opportunities to enhance the portfolio's value.

Key Responsibilities
  • Negotiate and Manage Commercial Leases: Ensure lease outcomes meet or exceed target benchmarks, and maintain a strong relationship with landlords, tenants, and other stakeholders.
  • Portfolio Cost Management: Work closely with internal stakeholders to provide timely reporting, accurate forecasting, and identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Strategic Property Opportunities: Identify and lead projects to unlock value within the property portfolio, from seeking approval to execution, within approved timelines and outcomes.
  • Property Acquisitions and Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments of properties to consolidate or promote efficiencies across multiple sites in various geographies.
  • Facilities Management: Direct and implement lease-compliant facilities management across the portfolio, in partnership with the procurement function and associated business streams.
  • Build-to-Suit Developments: Manage build-to-suit developments and major facility alterations to scope, cost, and stakeholder expectations.
Requirements
  • Minimum 10-15 Years' Experience: In property or asset management, focused on industrial or commercial properties, with demonstrated exposure to development and redevelopment.
  • Relevant Qualifications: Property management, business, engineering, or construction management qualifications would be considered favorably.
  • Strong Stakeholder Management: Deliver effective communication at all levels, from branch managers to executive general managers.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to focus on detail or step back to assess opportunities from a strategic perspective, providing innovative solutions to complex problems.
