About the Role

The Consumer Protection Division is responsible for enforcing consumer protection laws and regulations in Washington state. As an Assistant Attorney General, you will work closely with our team to investigate and prosecute cases involving consumer protection issues.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate and prosecute cases involving consumer protection issues
  • Work closely with our team to develop and implement strategies for enforcing consumer protection laws
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to our team on consumer protection issues
  • Represent the State of Washington in court proceedings
  • Collaborate with other state agencies and organizations to advance consumer protection goals
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Three or more years of litigation experience, including handling discovery and dispositive motions under the civil rules
  • Excellent writing and oral advocacy skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders
  • The ability to multi-task, manage a large caseload, and adapt to changing priorities and demanding deadlines
  • Active membership in the State Bar of Washington
Preferred Qualifications

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience handling cases involving consumer protection issues and complex litigation. However, we encourage applications from litigators with a range of experience and backgrounds.
