Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled Support Worker to join our Disability Services team. As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for assisting and supporting individuals with disabilities in all aspects of daily living, including community inclusion, personal care, and building independence.

You will work collaboratively with our team to develop and implement personalized plans that cater to the unique needs and goals of each individual. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of those in your care, while also promoting their social and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist individuals with disabilities in daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and medication management.
  • Provide support and guidance to individuals with complex behaviors, using evidence-based practices and person-centered approaches.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, families, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in areas such as disability support, mental health, and behavior support.
Requirements
  • Degree or diploma in a relevant field, such as disability studies, psychology, or social work.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities, preferably in a support worker role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse groups.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to scheduling and tasks.
