Senior Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team at Superior People Recruitment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and other necessary reports, in accordance with the financial calendar.
  • Analyse and interpret financial data, including liability, asset, and capital accounts, to inform business decisions.
  • Manage payroll and Workcover renewals, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Supervise, mentor, and motivate finance team members to achieve business objectives.
  • Implement internal audit controls and identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage stock control, including international suppliers, and ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions.
  • Process import and export transactions, negotiate exchange rates, and manage multi-currency processing.
  • Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, PAYG, Super, FBT, and other taxation-related documents, as required.
  • Liaise with the company's bankers and assist with year-end audit, statutory reporting, and income tax return.

Key Experience & Qualifications:

  • CPA qualified or equivalent, with a minimum of three years' experience leading a small finance team.
  • Strong experience working within an ERP system, such as MYOB EXO (EXONET), SAP, or similar.
  • Payroll experience and knowledge of relevant regulations.
  • Experience working in a sales, service, and distribution business.
  • Expert user of Microsoft Excel and other financial software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
