Member Engagement Liaison

The Australian Services Union is a member-led, progressive union. We are one of the largest unions in Australia and have achieved record membership growth in recent years.
We are seeking to expand our member engagement team with both full-time and part-time hours on offer. The team is based in Adelaide and provides administrative and industrial support to ASU members.
Key Responsibilities:- Communicate effectively with union staff, members, and stakeholders.
- Undertake persuasive conversations to engage with members.
- Conduct outbound member contact, primarily over the telephone.
- Respond to inbound member and non-member queries in a timely manner.
- Provide immediate triage and basic advice to members and non-members.
- Ensure members feel supported and informed.
- Escalate matters to the Industrial team when necessary.
- Perform general office administrative duties including database management.
- Assist with union organising and campaigns.
- Supports the union's values and strategies.
- Enjoys working as part of a small, collaborative team.
- Maintains accurate records in a timely and efficient manner.
- Communicates with colleagues, members, and potential members in a professional and friendly manner.
- Remains composed when assisting members who may be experiencing distress or agitation.
- Handles objections, grievances, and sensitive information with maturity and discretion.
- Possesses strong computer skills and experience with database management.
- 12 RDOs per year.
- 4 weeks annual leave per year.
- 17.5% leave loading.
- 3 additional Grace days over Christmas/New Years.
- Generous Superannuation arrangements, with additional employer contributions of up to 4.5% in excess of the Superannuation Guarantee.
