The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Financial Director to oversee the financial operations of Hassett. This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, compliance with statutory obligations, and continuous improvement within the finance function. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving the financial strategy and operations of the company, ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management & Reporting:
    • Oversee the accuracy of monthly Work In Progress (WIP) and Settled WIP margins.
    • Review and deliver monthly management reporting packs, including executive summaries for the Managing Director.
    • Ensure accurate delivery of company aggregated and consolidated financial reports for statutory purposes.
    • Oversee the annual financial audit process in compliance with accounting standards.
    • Manage the annual budget and monthly forecasting processes.
    • Review and oversee the preparation and maintenance of the Accountants procedures manual.
  • Analysis & Compliance:
    • Conduct periodic reviews of regional ETOs to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings.
    • Ensure adequacy of WIP, ETO, and other contingencies through periodic reviews.
    • Maintain compliance with all statutory and regulatory obligations.
    • Establish and monitor internal controls and accounting procedures.
  • People Management:
    • Provide regular feedback and development opportunities to direct reports.
    • Identify and address skill gaps through appropriate training.
    • Ensure workload distribution and workflow continuity during staff absences.
    • Foster a cohesive and productive finance team environment.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
    • Respond to stakeholder queries within 24 hours in a professional and timely manner.
    • Collaborate with other business leaders to achieve shared business outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance or Accounting (or equivalent).
  • CPA qualified (or equivalent).
  • 10+ years of experience in Accounting.
  • Proven experience in leading high-performing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of reporting systems and financial management software.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel.
  • Excellent time management, prioritisation, and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication abilities.
  • A positive, self-motivated individual with a strong commercial and business acumen.
