Job Title: Infrastructure Design Lead

Key Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Design Lead to join our team in delivering high-quality infrastructure design projects. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading a team of civil drafters and managing project resourcing, quality of outputs, and client deliverables.

The role involves undertaking design and documentation with advanced working knowledge of AutoCAD, supervising and coordinating the work of draftspersons, and completing, reviewing, and validating design drawings and documentation with a focus on quality.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead our civil drafting team and work on significant major infrastructure projects. If you have a strong understanding of Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) projects and specifications, experience operating software design tools, and excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, we would like to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Documentation: Undertake design and documentation with advanced working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Team Management: Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of draftspersons to maintain high technical standards and techniques.
  • Quality Control: Complete, review, and validate design drawings and documentation with a focus on quality.
  • Mentorship: Oversee and facilitate knowledge sharing, including mentoring junior team members.
  • Training and Development: Develop and implement training curriculums to support CAD technologies and provide learning support through coaching and sharing of knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Drafting or Engineering, or relevant equivalent work experience.
  • Experience leading a team of civil drafters, managing project resourcing, and quality of outputs and client deliverables.
  • Extensive experience delivering Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) projects, in accordance with their specifications.
  • Good understanding of Common Data Environments such as ACC and ProjectWise.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, preferably in engineering or architecture.
