Senior IT Operations Manager

We are seeking a seasoned IT operations manager to lead and oversee our service desk and systems administration functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of mentoring, training, and fostering a high-performance culture across multiple locations.

This role involves overseeing service desk operations, driving continuous improvement through ITIL-aligned practices, and managing project and BAU workload prioritization. The successful candidate will be able to ensure seamless IT service delivery, drive performance, and champion strategic planning.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Leading and supporting ITS teams by mentoring, training, and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Overseeing service desk operations and implementing effective ITIL processes.
  • Driving continuous improvement through identifying and implementing enhancements to service delivery and team efficiency.
  • Managing project and BAU workload prioritisation, resource planning, and contractor engagement to meet business needs and SLAs.

The successful candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, solid knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, and SaaS/cloud solutions, as well as ITIL practices and certification. They will also have a strong ability to manage competing priorities, drive outcomes, and solve complex problems.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to bring along:

  • A tertiary qualification in Information Technology or related fields.
  • 5+ years of technical project management, systems administration, or similar experience.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of mentoring and motivating high-performing teams.
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, and passion for SaaS/cloud solutions.
  • Sound knowledge of ITIL practices, ITIL certification highly regarded.
  • Excellent customer service, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, drive outcomes, and solve complex problems.
