About the Role

The Clinical Practice Development Specialist is responsible for the development of clinical practice for all nurses in the Subacute clinical settings, by providing education and support.

This will be achieved by implementing clinically based education using the principles of Evidenced Based Practice to improve the delivery of nursing care. Furthermore, you will be responsible for your own professional development in order to maintain expert clinical skills and advanced knowledge.

This role is primarily based at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne, with the expectation of travel to other campuses and health services as required.

Classifications for this position will range YZ7 ($113,646.00 per annum pro rata)

Your Contribution

  • Current Nursing Registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA.
  • Degree in General Nursing which meets the registration requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery board of Australia.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Gerontological, Advanced Clinical Nursing or other relevant area.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Education, Clinical Supervision or similar (or working towards), is desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years subacute nursing experience.
  • Experience in clinical teaching, clinical supervision or preceptorship of nursing staff.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet set timelines.
  • Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain
