Senior Data Consultant Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned data consultant to join our team and drive meaningful change in large, complex organizations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data governance frameworks, data modelling, and platform engineering across cloud-native environments.

About the Role

This is a mid-senior level position that requires 7+ years of experience in data consulting, architecture, or engineering roles. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading data discovery engagements, architecting data operating models, and providing solution direction across Azure, AWS, and Databricks platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead data discovery engagements and maturity assessments to uncover systemic challenges such as low data quality, legacy complexity, poor ownership, and governance breakdowns.
  • Translate ambiguous client challenges into structured data strategies and actionable roadmaps.
  • Architect data operating models and data governance frameworks to instill ownership, accountability, and regulatory alignment.
  • Design and oversee end-to-end data transformations, including ingestion, cleansing, modeling, and analytics enablement.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Deep knowledge of data governance frameworks (e.g. DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM) and practical experience implementing ownership, stewardship, and data quality models.
  • Strong proficiency in data modelling, transformation design (ETL/ELT), and platform engineering across cloud-native environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Proven experience delivering solutions on Azure, Databricks, or Snowflake, including orchestration, observability, and governance integration.
  • Proficient in Python and SQL, with hands-on experience using data engineering tools such as dbt, Spark, Fabric, or Synapse.
