Demand Planning Role

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Demand Planner to develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts for assigned product categories, leveraging historical data, market trends, and input from sales and marketing teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and analyzing demand patterns, identifying deviations and adjusting forecasts as needed to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
  • Collaborating with Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams to gather relevant market intelligence, promotional plans, and product launch schedules to incorporate into demand forecasts.
  • Working closely with Supply Planning and Production teams to ensure alignment between demand forecasts and production schedules, optimizing inventory levels while meeting customer service levels.

To achieve this, the Demand Planner will:

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive demand planning process that incorporates statistical forecasting techniques and demand planning software.
  2. Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of demand forecasts and production schedules.
  3. Monitor and analyze demand patterns, identifying opportunities for improvement and making recommendations to senior management.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in demand planning, inventory management, or related roles within the FMCG or consumer goods industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical forecasting techniques and demand planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDA).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Familiarity with FMCG market dynamics, consumer behavior, and retail channels.
