Job Description

The middle school track program is seeking a team-oriented leader to administer the program under the leadership of the athletic director.

Responsibilities include:

  • Budget Management: Develop, implement, and manage the track program budget;
  • Program Promotion: Direct involvement in promoting the program through various means;
  • Team Supervision: Supervising and disciplining players during practices and games;
  • Additional Duties: Additional duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Coaching Experience: Three years or more of head coaching experience;
  • Computer Skills: Computer/technology skills are essential for this position;

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Team Oversight: Overseeing varsity and junior varsity teams;
  • Cheer Leadership: Selecting, managing, educating, and evaluating assistant coaches for the program;
  • Policy Knowledge: Following and maintaining knowledge of District policy(ies) and procedures relevant to this position;
  • Skill Development: Instructing and demonstrating skill sets and techniques necessary for individual and team achievement;
  • Athlete Safety: Ensuring a certified coach is present at all practices and contests;
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring proper storage, maintenance, and inventory of athletic equipment and uniforms;
  • Travel Accompaniment: Travelling and supervising student athletes on the team bus;
  • Financial Policy Adherence: Adhering to financial policies regarding collection and disbursement of money, expenses, and receipts;
  • Record Keeping: Maintaining necessary records and completing required paperwork;
  • Discipline Enforcement: Enforcing discipline policies and emphasizing sportsmanship and healthy lifestyles;
  • Locker Room Supervision: Supervising students in locker rooms;
  • Conduct and Eligibility Rules: Explaining and ensuring adherence to conduct and eligibility rules and regulations;
  • Safety Environment: Maintaining a safe environment and facilities for student athletes;
  • Medical Requirements: Ensuring medical and safety requirements are met;
  • Injury Reporting: Completing injury reports within 24 hours;
