About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced MC Driver to join our team at Centurion Transport. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods across various terrains and weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Route Navigation: Plan and navigate routes to ensure efficient and safe operation of road trains.
  2. Freight Transportation: Ensure all freight is transported safely and on time, monitoring cargo loads, performing pre-trip inspections, and managing schedules to meet delivery deadlines.
  3. Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed on relevant laws, including weight limits, route restrictions, and compliance with local regulations to uphold operational integrity.
  4. Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect and clean the cab and cargo area, ensuring proper safety equipment is available and in good condition.
  5. Documentation: Accurately complete and maintain all required paperwork, such as delivery receipts, logbooks, and compliance reports, to ensure accountability and traceability.
  6. Communication: Leverage GPS and other communication tools to stay updated on traffic conditions, route changes, and emergencies that may arise.
About You
  1. MC Licence: Must have a valid multi-combination Drivers Licence allowing operation of heavy vehicles with multiple trailers.
  2. Refrigeration and General Freight Experience: Familiarity with transporting temperature-sensitive goods as well as general freight, ensuring compliance with all handling procedures.
  3. Accident-Free Record: A history of accident-free driving, showcasing responsibility and dedication to safety protocols on the road.
  4. Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of applicable laws and regulations, including load limitations and route planning for optimal efficiency.
  5. Fatigue Management: Knowledge of fatigue management regulations to ensure driver well-being, including proper rest periods and monitoring driving hours.
  6. Hands-on Experience: Hands-on experience is essential for navigating and manoeuvring large combinations safely across various terrain.
  7. Forklift Licence: Hold a current forklift licence.
