About the RoleWe are seeking a highly experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team on a 12-month initial contract. The successful candidate will oversee the delivery of CDC's proprietary data centre projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities- Project Oversight: Oversee the flow of technical information between engineering disciplines and stakeholders in construction projects, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.
- Contract Management: Manage construction contracts, including due diligence and compliance for third-party agreements, on behalf of CDC.
- Reporting and Communication: Report to the Head of Construction on project progress, forecasting, budget control, procurement, and schedule updates.
- Project Delivery: Ensure end-to-end oversight of assigned construction projects, focusing on value management, safety, structural adequacy, and verification of contracted works.
- Collaboration and Innovation: Identify opportunities to optimise delivery, timelines, or innovation and liaise with consultants as needed.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Conduct meetings and maintain regular communication with key stakeholders, including CDC Service Managers and Engineers, from design through to handover.
- Supplier Partnerships: Build strong partnerships with suppliers and vendors while collaborating with peers to enhance the function's capability within CDC.
- Team Leadership: Contribute to the growth of the CDC team, providing leadership, mentoring junior staff, and fostering a positive culture.
- Company Ambassador: Act as an ambassador for the company, leading and participating in team and stakeholder meetings to ensure effective engagement and communication.
- Experience: Proven experience as a Construction Project Manager, ideally with Data Centres or critical infrastructure projects of similar scale.
- Track Record: Strong track record of successful project delivery with excellent attention to detail, and the ability to identify issues or foresee and mitigate risks early.
- Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical components in base builds, along with knowledge of building methods, materials, and safety regulations.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders.
- Safety Focus: Strong safety focus with a commitment to implementation and compliance.
- Australian Citizenship: Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain AGSVA Security Clearance at Negative Vetting 1 level.
