As a strategic database professional, you will play a key role in shaping the Department of Industry, Science and Resources' future. The Database Administrator position involves creating, maintaining and managing databases with emphasis on security, backup/recovery and monitoring in both on-premises and cloud environments. This specialist role requires developing and configuring tools to automate database administration tasks, monitoring performance statistics and generating reports, identifying and resolving complex problems, recommending corrective actions, and performing routine configuration, installation and reconfiguration of database and related products.

To succeed in this role, you will need attention to detail, ability to follow established procedures, proven analytical and problem-solving skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, experience with Microsoft SQL Server and SQL High Availability technologies, and relevant industry certifications.

We seek a suitably qualified and experienced Database Administrator who can contribute to the development and maintenance of systems, collaborate with team members, and stay up-to-date with technological advancements. The ideal candidate will have experience with Always-On Availability Groups, SSIS, SSRS and SSAS, Microsoft SQL Server administration expertise, well-versed and experienced in monitoring, detection and isolation of SQL Server related performance issues, familiarity with cloud database environments, and experience with cloud-based technologies and issue resolution.
