Clinical Mental Health Specialist Position

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced mental health clinician to join the Ryde Community Mental Health Service as a Mental Health Clinician for the Police, Ambulance and Clinical Early Response (PACER) team.
This team is transforming mental health responses and supporting our community by providing timely community-based access to mental health assessment and management.
The ideal candidate will be committed to high-quality mental health care and thrive in a mobile, fast-paced clinical setting.
The role involves participation in a 7-day-a-week rotating roster, including extended hours.
About the Role- Provide highly mobile, recovery-orientated clinical advice, consultancy, and support to NSW Police managing mental health-related cases in the community.
- Undertake triage, primary client assessment, and management of complex mental health emergencies and crises at an advanced level.
- Facilitate appropriate diversion from emergency departments and inpatient care when possible.
- Support individuals in crisis with a recovery-oriented, trauma-informed approach.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience as per clinical discipline.
- Clinical Nurse Consultant or Senior Psychologist or Occupational Therapist with full AHPRA registration or Social Worker eligible for membership of AASW with demonstrated expertise in the area of Mental Health.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with Police, Ambulance, Emergency Department staff, GP's, Psychiatrists.
- Extensive Mental Health experience of assessment, crisis management, and effective care planning in complex clinical presentations.
- Current NSW unrestricted drivers license.
