Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Deck Officer to join our team. This role involves working on a deck, often in heavy seas and sometimes in cramped spaces.

About the Role

This is a Full-time position with opportunities for professional growth and development. As a Deck Officer, you will be responsible for managing fishing operations and ensuring the safety of crew members.

Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Must have verifiable references and strong physical abilities to work in challenging environments.
  • Ranked positions may involve in-vessel management of fishing operations in consultation with company owners.
  • Will need to be prepared to be away from home for several days or occasionally weeks with short turnarounds.
  • Where required, must hold the appropriate license or registration (tickets must be held to be considered).
  • Sea time considerations vary by position: at least 1 year of Australian work experience for Fishing and Deckhands; at least 5 years relevant experience for ranked positions; more may be considered subject to experience.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Annual salary ranges: Ship's Master $120,000+; Ships Engineer (Fishing) $72,000–$82,000; Master Fisher $75,000–$82,000; Ship's Officer $72,000–$82,000; Deck and Fishing Hands $68,800–$78,000.
  • Salary is negotiable based on qualifications, skills, experience and performance; government superannuation guarantee applies.
