We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our risk and compliance efforts. As a forward-thinking Risk & Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing robust risk management frameworks across various areas, including credit, operational, conduct, data/privacy, and reputational risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, maintain, and oversee risk and compliance frameworks to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify, assess, and manage business risks, providing actionable insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Monitor compliance with relevant regulations and internal guidelines, ensuring a proactive approach to risk mitigation.
  • Presentation of regular risk reports to the CEO and Board, facilitating informed decision-making.
  • Foster a culture of risk awareness across the organization, promoting a proactive and responsive approach to emerging risks.
  • Build and lead a high-performing risk and compliance team, leveraging expertise and experience to drive excellence.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on regulatory and governance matters, providing expert guidance to support business growth and development.
Requirements
  • Proven track record in risk and compliance, preferably in financial services or consumer lending.
  • Strong leadership skills, combined with a pragmatic and commercial approach to managing risk.
  • Excellent understanding of relevant regulations, including NCCP and RG209.
  • Experience in designing and implementing risk management frameworks from scratch, with a focus on innovative solutions.
  • Superb communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to distill complex information into actionable insights.
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or industry certifications are highly desirable, as is experience in a FinTech start-up or scale-up environment.
  • Previous experience as a Responsible Manager under an ACL is a significant advantage.
