About the Role

AusNet Services Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Senior Deal Execution and Commercial Manager to lead commercial negotiations and deal execution for our Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects across Victoria and NSW.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage Contracts: Oversee the suite of contracts during the development phase to financial close, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution.
  2. Project Development: Provide input into project development, controlling progress of key contracts, including timeline and status updates.
  3. Risk Management: Identify and summarize key contractual risks, ensuring an owner is working to resolve these issues.
  4. Negotiations: Lead negotiations with customers, BESS OEM providers, contractors, and other suppliers to optimize project-wide value and mitigate risks.
  5. Commercial Risk: Identify residual commercial risks and develop approaches to mitigate them.
  6. Stakeholder Management: Seek input from relevant stakeholders to manage overall commercial risk to the portfolio.
  7. Investment Cases: Lead the preparation of investment business cases for executive and board review.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualification in legal, finance, commerce, or other relevant discipline.
  • Experience: Extensive experience in commercial negotiations, with a focus on large infrastructure, renewable energy, or energy storage programs.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels, including executives. Strong attention to detail, analytical problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead teams and influence behaviors.
