Job Overview

The Department of Parliamentary Services is seeking an experienced Horticulture Professional to lead the Landscape Services team in maintaining the parliamentary estate.

This role involves overseeing landscape maintenance and redevelopment work, implementing plant nutrition strategies, conducting staff performance assessments, and ensuring high safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have supervisory experience, a Certificate 3 or 5 in Horticulture or Turf Management, and be able to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting security clearance.

They will be proactive, able to work under pressure, and possess excellent communication skills. They will be passionate about horticulture and committed to delivering exceptional results in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising and coordinating landscape maintenance and redevelopment work
  • Implementing and monitoring plant nutrition, pest management strategies, and irrigation systems
  • Conducting staff performance assessments and ensuring high safety standards
  • Maintaining machinery and equipment and participating in training programs

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certificate 3 or 5 in Horticulture or Turf Management
  • Supervisory experience in landscape maintenance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting security clearance
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
