Job Description:

Job Title: Area Sales Manager

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Area Sales Manager. You will be a trusted advisor and business partner to retailers, forming symbolic relationships to drive retailer sales, profitability, compliance, and success. This role owns the relationship with its retailer store and acts as the primary contact for all interactions with us. The territory covers Blackheath, Bourke, Cobar, Orange, and Dubbo, involving remote travel and time away from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Build and develop relations with retailers, becoming the single point of contact for retailers at the store level.
  2. Liaise with Retail Business Manager and Sales & Ops Manager to coordinate support from State Fresh specialists, Project Managers, and RMS where necessary.
  3. Advise on new lines, ranging, ticketing, catalogue compliance, and identify wholesale sales opportunities (incl. Charge through, Weekly best deals).
  4. Use available shoppers' and stores' data (e.g. demographic trends) to identify and execute sales growth opportunities.
  5. Represent retailers' positions and feedback their needs and requests.

Requirements:

  1. Grocery retail management knowledge and sales experience in the retail supermarket sector at store manager or multi-site level.
  2. Strong understanding of Fresh & Produce in terms of food safety and compliance, product knowledge, etc.
  3. Expertise in drawing consumer and store insights from data to inform and conduct business management, strategic planning, and problem-solving in the retail supermarket sector.
  4. Influencing skills and ability to rapidly establish trust and build relations with retailers (owners and managers).
