Senior Landfill Engineer Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior to Principal level consultant to join our Land Quality and Remediation team in Melbourne.

About the Role:

This is a key opportunity for a highly skilled professional to make a significant contribution to the success of our organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with industry leaders across the region on landfill engineering projects.
  • Provide technical support to grow the wider SLR team.
  • Display confidence and high-level project management skills.
  • Design investigations, develop engineering solutions to environmental issues at and near landfills.
  • Prepare design documentation in conjunction with design experts and drafters.
  • Prepare technical reports and review technical reports from external parties.
  • Client management and mentoring of junior staff in the team.
Project Examples:
  • Landfill cell and liner design.
  • Leachate and landfill gas capture and treatment systems.
  • Landfill rehabilitation and development.
  • Environmental assessment, risk assessment, and monitoring.
  • Landfill gas and soil vapour mitigation system design and assessment.
  • Contamination assessments and waste projects.
Requirements:
  • A degree in environmental science or engineering or other relevant field.
  • 6-12+ years of professional experience in consulting or a similar industry role.
  • Proven capability in environmental / contamination management (soil and groundwater)/ remediation (soil and groundwater), soil science.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A team player capable of working independently and collaborating with other consultants.
