Salary
The successful candidate will be offered an attractive remuneration package of up to $534k per annum, including on-call and other allowances, ensuring a competitive salary that reflects their expertise and experience.
Job Description
As a Chief Psychiatrist for a dynamic mental health service, you will be responsible for providing expert, high-quality, culturally safe specialist psychiatry services in adult and addiction psychiatry in both inpatient and community settings. This will include:
- Providing leadership in respect to clinical governance activities
- Implementing and undertaking teaching and educational activities
- Implementing and monitoring quality standards, OH&S policy
- Developing and putting in place systems and strategies to ensure effective governance
- Liaising effectively with other colleagues and departments as well as external stakeholders
- Participating in the on-call roster as required
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- FRANZCP or trained overseas in either NZ, UK, Ireland, South Africa, USA or Canada. If trained in Sri Lanka you must have completed at least 2 yrs of your international placement in Aus/NZ.
- If trained outside of Australia you will have at least 2.5yrs consultant experience at time of reading this text.
- If trained outside of Australia you will have completed a formal post in C&A of at least 6 months.
- Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
- First-class verbal and written communication skills

This Queensland mental health service provides specialist mental health, substance, and alcohol-related care to a catchment population of approximately 250,000. It is accredited by the college for training through to FRANZCP, including accreditation for advanced training, and has a close relationship with the University of Queensland School of Medicine with access to its library, database, and research hubs. The service is made up of experienced professionals, including consultants, registrars, and nurse practitioners, working together to deliver exceptional patient care.
