Lead Gaming Experience Team

We are looking for a talented Software Engineering Manager to lead our team in optimising and expanding the Ubuntu gaming experience.

This role will entail managing project timelines, balancing feature improvements with deadlines, and collaborating with stakeholders to align your team's work with other teams and company objectives.

You will be responsible for conducting keen-eyed code reviews, focusing on quality, performance, and modern design principles, as well as collaborating with upstream projects like Proton and partners like Unity to enhance Ubuntu's gaming capabilities.

The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in a technical subject, proven ability to collaborate effectively with upstream projects and partners, familiarity and experience with the Linux graphics stack spanning user-space components to low level kernel drivers, and exceptional software project management skills.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of engineers to optimise and expand the Ubuntu gaming experience
  • Manage project timelines and balance feature improvements with deadlines
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align team work with other teams and company objectives
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure high-quality code
  • Collaborate with upstream projects and partners to enhance gaming capabilities
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or equivalent experience
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with upstream projects and partners
  • Familiarity and experience with the Linux graphics stack
