Research Areas
  • Artificial Intelligence for Battery and Energy Systems: Developing advanced methods for learning, optimization, and condition monitoring in battery and energy systems.
  • Quantum Computing for Science and Technology: Creating solutions for material engineering design, nanowire single photon detector development, quantum error correction, quantum control design, and quantum sensing.
  • Quantum Machine Learning: Exploring the rapidly advancing field of quantum machine learning, which leverages quantum computing to accelerate traditional machine learning methods.
  • Classical and Quantum System Control, Learning, and Optimization: Investigating the estimation, control, and optimization of classical and quantum systems with applications in power systems, quantum devices, and battery technologies.

Candidate Requirements
  • A strong academic background in computer science, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, electrical engineering, materials science, or a closely related field.
  • Proficiency and interest in one or more of the following: machine learning, quantum technologies, optimization, control systems, and energy systems.
  • Motivation to conduct high-quality research and contribute to innovative solutions in AI and quantum science.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a diverse research team.
