Job Summary:

The Senior Financial Strategist will play a pivotal role in driving financial excellence at Yara, a leading player in the oil and gas industry. This is a challenging opportunity to lead the accounting and finance function, providing strategic support to the broader organization.

About the Role:

As a key member of the leadership team, you will oversee the Finance team, ensuring effective management of accounting processes, financial reporting, and compliance with internal governance and external regulations. Your expertise will be crucial in coordinating cost control activities, evaluating investments, and managing cash flow, funding, insurance, and treasury requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and support the Finance team in their daily operations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement effective cost control strategies to optimize resource allocation.
  • Evaluate and verify investments and capital projects to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Coordinate the statutory audit and Board Audit Committee process.
  • Manage income tax compliance and tax planning for the Yara Australia consolidated tax group.
  • Prepare and present board papers, budgets, business plans, financial forecasts, roadmaps, risk analysis, and assessments.
  • Lead and support the finance team in performance management and development.
  • Provide strategic support to the broader organization, including the Board of Directors and management team.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you must possess a Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance and hold CA/CPA qualifications. A minimum of 10 years' experience in a senior finance role, combined with strong communication skills, is essential. Experience in oil and gas, chemical processing, or mining and manufacturing is highly desirable. You should also have supervisory experience and be fluent in verbal and written English. Australian/New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency is required.
