Education Support Position

About the Role:

This part-time education support role involves providing routine assistance to teachers, including planning and coordinating student activities. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting teachers in various tasks, such as assisting with lesson planning, communicating with parents, and providing basic physical care and wellbeing support for students. They will also be required to communicate with students to support their understanding of daily routines and instructions, and address any immediate behavioural presentations in a classroom setting aligned to school policy and procedure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide routine support for teachers, including assisting with planning and coordination of student activities
  • Support communication between teachers and parents
  • Communicate with teachers on routine matters related to students and/or other responsibilities
  • Provide basic physical care and wellbeing support for students, including toileting, meals, and lifting
  • Communicate with students to support their understanding of daily routines and instructions
  • Address immediate behavioural presentations relating to specific students within a classroom setting aligned to school policy and procedure
  • Provide basic support and supervision for individuals or groups of up to 4 students within a classroom setting
  • Support teachers in the coordination of educational programs independently or under minimal supervision
