Job Title: Blood Collection Specialist

The role of a Blood Collection Specialist is integral to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Enrolled Nurse to join our team in a permanent part-time capacity at Wollongong Hospital. This role involves working with patients and medical staff to collect blood samples, perform venepuncture, and other duties related to blood collecting and haematological investigations.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to a customer-focused pathology collection service for inpatients and outpatients
  • Perform venepuncture and other duties pertaining to blood collecting and haematological investigations as required
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Key Requirements:
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as an Enrolled Nurse (Division 2)
  • Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia approved qualification for administration of medication (including intravenous medication administration)
  • Customer-focused approach with well-developed interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills
  • Previous venepuncture experience and familiarity with pathology terminology and requirements
