Personalisation Engineer

We're looking for a talented engineer to join our Personalisation & Identity team. As a key member of the team, you'll play a crucial role in shaping how millions of homeowners and tradies experience our platform.

About The Role

You'll be responsible for designing and delivering scalable APIs, services, and integrations across martech platforms and internal systems. This includes building event-driven and real-time data pipelines for audience segmentation and targeting, as well as supporting experimentation and A/B testing for personalised content and journeys.

Your primary focus will be on raising the bar for engineering quality and best practices within the P&I team, while contributing to system architecture and governance discussions for personalisation at our company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver scalable APIs, services, and integrations
  • Build event-driven and real-time data pipelines
  • Support experimentation and A/B testing
  • Contribute to system architecture and governance discussions
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • 4+ years' software engineering experience in product-focused or startup environments
  • Strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills with backend frameworks (e.g. NestJS)
  • Proficiency with modern frontend frameworks (e.g. React, Angular, or React Native)
  • Experience designing and maintaining APIs and backend services
  • Cloud infrastructure knowledge (AWS preferred) with CI/CD proficiency
  • Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases
  • Agile team experience (Scrum or Kanban) and comfort with automated testing
Bonus Skills

If you have exposure to martech tools (e.g. Segment, Braze, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Experience Platform), experience with event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ), containerisation knowledge (Docker, Kubernetes), understanding of microservices architecture, or awareness of data privacy and security in personalisation systems, that's a plus
