About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Specialist to join our client, a local council based in Western Sydney, in a 6-month contract opportunity with a strong chance of extension.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leverage your procurement knowledge to navigate approaches to market, tendering, and quotations for a range of goods, services, and works within a government context.
  • Utilise your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
  • Demonstrate your problem-solving prowess by researching the market, analyzing information, and presenting findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Manage the complete procurement lifecycle, from tendering and RFQs to contract award, including preparing comprehensive procurement reports.
  • Work effectively under pressure, prioritizing tasks efficiently, and delivering positive outcomes for both internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience with government procurement processes, including approaches to market, tendering, and quotations.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, verbal communication, and report writing skills.
  • A proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills with the capacity to research, analyze information, and present findings cogently.
  • Proven experience managing the full procurement cycle, including tendering, RFQs, EOIs, selective tendering, and contract award.
  • The ability to work independently while remaining a valuable team player with leadership qualities.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or a Cert IV or Diploma in Government Procurement and Contracting, or experience in a similar role.
