ROLE OVERVIEW
This is a permanent position based at one of our underground mining operations. As the Mechanical Engineering Superintendent, you will oversee the mechanical engineering functions within the mine, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations while providing expert guidance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure compliance with mechanical engineering standards in accordance with relevant legislation
- Develop and implement mechanical engineering procedures for mining operations
- Supervise the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment, ensuring adherence to safety standards
- Maintain accurate mechanical records and conduct audits to ensure compliance
- Communicate safety protocols and updates to the team, addressing any mechanical hazards promptly
ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in managing teams across multiple locations
- Proven leadership in underground coal mining and mechanical operations
- Ability to foster a safety-focused and high-performance culture through effective mentorship
Qualifications required for this role include:
- Certification as a Mechanical Engineering Manager for underground coal mining
- Relevant engineering degree or advanced diploma recognized in Australia
