Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced hospital pharmacist to join our multidisciplinary team at a major metropolitan healthcare facility.

About the Role
  • Provide specialist clinical pharmacy services to a clinical ward, focusing on patient safety and medication management.
  • Ensure safe, effective, and cost-conscious management of medications.
  • Actively engage in clinical governance, research, and education initiatives.
  • Promote stewardship and support quality care through collaboration with healthcare teams.
  • Mentor staff, collaborate with teams, and support continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provision of clinical pharmacy services to a nominated clinical sub-specialty area.
  • Dispensary duties as required, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Promotion of safety and quality in drug therapy, minimizing risk and adverse events.
  • Participation in quality improvement and professional development activities.
  • Contribution to education and supervision of staff and students, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
Requirements
  • Full Pharmacy Registration with the relevant authority, with no restrictions to the scope of practice.
  • A minimum of 3 years' hospital pharmacy experience, combined with EITHER:
  • A minimum of 12 months experience as a clinical pharmacist in the nominated specialty area OR Relevant postgraduate qualifications and a minimum of 6 months experience in the nominated specialty area.
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills to interact with healthcare staff and patients.
  • Judgement and independence in problem solving, with a focus on patient-centered care.
  • Clinical drug knowledge with experience applying it in clinical settings, including development or review of medication policies.
  • Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams, with participation in clinical meetings and rounds.
  • Ability to promote teamwork and supervise pharmacy staff, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, prioritizing tasks and managing competing demands.
  • Contribution to quality assurance activities, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Experience in teaching programs with other pharmacists, nursing staff, or other healthcare providers, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
