The Role: Business Manager

We are seeking a Business Manager who embodies strategic vision and operational expertise to lead our Pakenham branch towards new heights of success. As this role is central to implementing our strategic vision, you will be required to be on site daily for early morning starts. You will work in tandem with Branch Managers, Supervisors, and the State Operations Manager to enhance operational excellence and redefine industry standards. Your role will be pivotal in driving innovation, fostering a positive and productive workplace, and building enduring relationships with our staff, customers, and stakeholders.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute strategic plans to ensure the business delivers meets KPI's and operates within the national framework
  • Ensure day to day business activities are running effectively and liaison with internal departments including Branches, Sales, HR, Compliance to drive business performance, efficiencies and continuous improvement
  • Establish operating disciplines, data led decisions and lead a positive workplace culture
  • Provide technical, logistical and operational support to your stakeholders
  • Review data, in particular branch key performance indicators and develop solutions and strategies to drive performance
  • Analyse and forecast trends in residential construction industry
  • Workforce planning and infrastructure in line with growth plans
  • Empower and motivate the team to achieve a shared sense of vision and promotion of Buildsafe Core Values retention and people growth
  • Coach and manage your team

What We're Looking For:

We're seeking a leader who not only brings daily operational expertise and sharp business acumen to the table but also thrives in environments that require meticulous management of warehoused products and comprehensive service fleets. While familiarity with the construction supply chain is an asset, it's your deep-seated understanding of business metrics, financial analysis, and the unique intricacies of coordinating warehousing operations and a fleet of service trucks for construction sites that truly sets you apart.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Recent extensive experience as a Manager within Construction or Building Services
  • A strong focus on daily operations
  • Analytical and data led decision maker
  • Exceptional business acumen, with a keen eye for emerging trends and the acuity to seize opportunities.
  • A dedication to surpassing customer service expectations and deepening stakeholder relationships, fostering an environment of trust and mutual success.
  • Experience driving continuous improvement opportunities across operational areas
  • Experience of effective P&L management
  • Experience with workforce planning & infrastructure
  • Confident in monitoring and reviewing operational KPI's
