About the Opportunity

This permanent role will be based in Chevron's Gorgon Gas Plant, Barrow Island and / or Wheatstone Gas Plant Onslow on an attractive rotational roster.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage risk and safety in terminal operations to perform the safety-critical role of Marine Pilot Loading Master.
  • Provide marine pilotage and loading master expertise to vessels transporting LNG and Condensate cargos within the port.
  • Act as the on-board Terminal Representative and coordinate all transfer operations between export vessels and the terminal.
  • Manage the efficient use of Tug and Pilot Boats and ensure the safe transfer of personnel and equipment to and from vessels under pilotage in accordance with International and Chevron standards.
  • Ensure vessel compliance with safe cargo loading and operating practices as per terminal regulations.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a motivated individual with a keen interest in the energy industry. Key qualifications include:

  • Australian Master Unrestricted Certificate of Competency or equivalent.
  • Experience in Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) carriers / Oil tankers in senior capacity is preferred.
  • Ship handling and / or marine pilotage skills are preferred.
  • Knowledge of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) / Oil shipboard operations is required.
  • Knowledge of relevant international, national, and state maritime regulations is necessary.
  • Experience in risk and safety management in terminal operations is preferred.
  • Experience working with various cultural backgrounds and professional disciplines and the ability to work under pressure in a team environment is desired.
