Job Title: Sr. Network Technician

Job Summary:

Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Network Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Digital Modernization Sector, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN devices and network protocols.
  • Respond to and resolve incident tickets in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Draft and implement standard network change requests to ensure seamless network operations.
  • Provide support to Tier III network engineers for incident management and projects, including site surveys and technical exchange meetings.
  • Perform configuration management functions, including updating topology drawings and ensuring asset management records are accurate.
  • Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades to ensure optimal network performance.
  • Configure and troubleshoot layer 2 switching, including VLANs, port security, and thin configurations.

Requirements:

  • TS/SCI with Poly
  • 16 years of experience in network engineering, with a combination of work history and education
  • Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2
  • Working knowledge of basic routing fundamentals and layer 2 switching concepts
  • Knowledge of CISCO/Juniper Return Material Authorization (RMA) processes
  • Layer 1 and Layer 2 network experience, including CAT5, single mode/multimode fiber, serial cables, and small form-factor pluggable (SFP)
  • Knowledge of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) models
  • Knowledge of Cisco Internetworking Operating System (IOS), Juniper JUNOS, and the Brocade and Foundry Operating System (OS)
  • Familiarity with Layer 3 protocols, including Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP), Hot Standby Router Protocol (HSRP), Multiprotocol label switching (MPLS), Language Server Protocol (LSP), and Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Visio, ServiceNow, and Atlassian Confluence
  • Working knowledge of Service Now or similar IT Service Management (ITSM) products
  • Up to 25% travel
