Job Summary

Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Digital Modernization Sector, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Engineering and Design
    • Develop and implement network engineering specifications, modifications, and inspections for computer networks.
    • Plan and implement upgrades to network systems, including hardware and software configurations.
  • Network Support and Maintenance
    • Provide support for the installation and maintenance of client LAN/WAN devices.
    • Respond to and resolve incident tickets in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Network Configuration and Troubleshooting
    • Configure and troubleshoot layer 2 switching, including VLANs, Port Security, and Thin Configurations.
    • Perform configuration management functions, including update topology drawings and ensure asset management records are accurate.
  • Network Operations and Maintenance
    • Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades.
    • Ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2 requirements.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • TS/SCI with Poly clearance.
    • 16 years of experience in network engineering, design, and implementation, or a combination of work history and education.
  • Technical Skills
    • Working knowledge of basic routing fundamentals.
    • Working knowledge of layer 2 switching concepts.
    • Knowledge of CISCO/Juniper Return Material Authorization (RMA) processes.
    • Layer 1 and Layer 2 network experience.
    • Knowledge of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) models.
    • Knowledge of Cisco Internetworking Operating System (IOS), Juniper JUNOS, and the Brocade and Foundry Operating System (OS).
    • Familiarity with Layer 3 protocols, including OSPF, BGP, VRRP, HSRP, MPLS, LSP, and GRE.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Visio, ServiceNow, and Atlassian Confluence.
    • Working knowledge of Service Now or similar IT Service Management (ITSM) products.
  • Travel Requirements
    • Up to 25% travel required.
