Job Opportunity: Health and Safety Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled HSE expert to join our project, where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety of employees, contractors, and visitors.

This position involves influencing stakeholders on all Health & Safety matters, aligning with industry standards and best practices.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Communicate HSE requirements to subcontractors on-site
  • Review Subcontractor HSE Interview Questionnaires and verify their capability to deliver work tasks to agreed HSE standards
  • Report key issues to the project leadership team and regional HSE management
  • Assist in identifying key areas and developing HSE training needs analysis (safety and L&D supporters)
  • Monitor current competencies and support ongoing development needs
  • Deliver training throughout the project (where permitted by clients)
  • Investigate incidents and report to relevant personnel
  • Support site communication
  • Prepare project or workplace HSE inductions and conduct HSE training programs
  • Regularly review project HSE systems and plans against activity requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
  • Cert IV in Environmental Management
  • Bachelor degree in Safety, Environment, Engineering, Project Management or related disciplines
  • ISO45001 and/or ISO 14001 Lead Auditor Qualification
  • Prior experience as an HSE Practitioner in Construction and Engineering, heavy industry or other high-risk sectors
  • Prior experience working under Victorian Workplace Health and Safety legislation and Codes of Practice
  • Preferred prior experience in Solar Farms in regional Victoria
  • Knowledge of business administration
  • Capability to use HSE management and technique tools/software
  • Incident reporting and management skills
