Assess and Underwrite Equipment Finance Applications

Our team is seeking a seasoned credit professional to assess and underwrite equipment finance applications in line with credit policies and authority levels. This role involves conducting thorough financial analysis and preparing detailed credit submissions for retail and key account customers.

Analyse Portfolio Trends

The ideal candidate will analyse portfolio trends to identify and mitigate credit and capital risk exposure, recommending alternative finance structures to achieve optimal outcomes for the business and customers.

Ensure Compliance

This role requires ensuring compliance with credit policies, legal, regulatory, and privacy requirements, liaising with legal counsel to prepare and finalise security documentation.

Collaborate with Stakeholders

The successful candidate will collaborate with collections to identify and escalate early signs of financial difficulty, contribute to credit scorecard development, system testing, and credit risk reporting, provide support and coaching to internal stakeholders on credit policy, risk, and compliance, and champion continuous improvement and high-quality credit standards across the team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 Years of Experience in financial services, asset finance, or a senior credit underwriting role.
  • Strong Financial Acumen with demonstrated expertise in interpreting and analysing financial statements.
  • Proven Leadership skills with ability to lead, mentor, and influence others across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong Relationship Management skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective Time Management skills with ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects.
  • Confident User of computer systems with ability to learn new platforms quickly.
  • Excellent Written and Verbal Communication skills with ability to present to senior stakeholders and committees.
  • Deep Understanding of credit risk, compliance, and legislation.
  • Tertiary Qualifications in banking, finance, accounting, or commerce highly regarded.
