Surgical Professor

James Cook University is seeking an experienced veterinary professional to lead our small animal surgery program. As a Senior Surgical Educator, you will have the opportunity to deliver high-quality teaching and mentoring to our veterinary students, ensuring they receive a comprehensive and practical education in surgical techniques and procedures. You will lead and contribute to clinical service in the Small Animal Surgery Unit, including supervision of final-year students, interns, and residents.

The ideal candidate will have a veterinary degree registrable in Queensland (or eligible for registration), a postgraduate qualification in small animal surgery (e.g., MANZCVS, FANZCVS, Dipl. ECVS or ACVS) or equivalent specialist training, and demonstrated experience in clinical teaching and supervision in a veterinary hospital. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, team-focused approach are essential.
