Instructional Specialist

The Instructional Specialist is a key member of the school's senior leadership team, responsible for leading school-wide teaching and learning initiatives. This role requires an exemplary classroom practitioner who can model excellent teaching practices, improve learning outcomes, and drive change in instructional strategies.

• Lead school-wide improvement initiatives to lift student achievement and growth
• Exhibit evidence-based practice and lead colleagues to plan, implement, and review the effectiveness of their learning and teaching
• Collaborate with colleagues to modify and expand their repertoire of teaching strategies by modeling exemplary classroom practice
• Conduct thorough analyses of data and trends within the school to identify areas for growth, informing targeted instructional strategies and interventions
• Plan and lead professional learning to address the needs of colleagues
• Support the implementation of 'SCS Excellence in Action'
• Facilitate the sharing of effective practices through Network Professional Learning Communities

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

• A university degree in Education or Teaching
• Accreditation as a Proficient teacher with NESA
• Demonstrated practice equivalent to Highly Accomplished or Lead level of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
• Religious Education qualifications or the willingness to achieve them
• A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in a school
• Experience in leading staff in professional learning
• Demonstrated success in improving student outcomes and implementing school-wide initiatives
• Experience in using data analysis to inform educational initiatives
• Strong written, oral, and presentation skills
