About the RoleThe Instructional Specialist is a key member of the school's senior leadership team, responsible for leading school-wide teaching and learning initiatives. This role requires an exemplary classroom practitioner who can model and promote best practices in teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities- Lead school-wide improvement initiatives to lift student achievement and growth
- Exhibit evidence-based practice and lead colleagues to plan, implement, and review the effectiveness of their learning and teaching
- Collaborate with colleagues to modify and expand their repertoire of teaching strategies by modeling exemplary classroom practice
- Conduct thorough analyses of data and trends within the school to identify areas for growth, informing targeted instructional strategies and interventions
- Plan and lead the development of professional learning to address the needs of colleagues
- Support the implementation of system-wide teaching and learning initiatives
- Facilitate the sharing of effective practices through engagement in Network Professional Learning Communities
- University degree in Education or Teaching
- Accreditation as a Proficient teacher with NESA
- Demonstrated practice equivalent to Highly Accomplished or Lead level of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
- Religious Education qualifications or willingness to achieve them
- Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in a school
- Experience in leading staff in professional learning
- Demonstrated success in improving student outcomes and implementing school-wide initiatives
- Experience in using data analysis to inform educational initiatives
- Ability to articulate contemporary educational trends in local and international contexts
- Strong written, oral, and presentation skills
- Postgraduate qualification in Education or a related discipline
- Current driver's license
- Baptised Catholic with demonstrated evidence of ongoing commitment to the teachings of the Catholic Church
