Trainee Physiotherapist Role

The Mater Mothers', Women's and Pelvic Health team is seeking a high-achieving final-year physiotherapy student to join our team on a casual basis in a trainee physiotherapist role.

This position requires a minimum commitment of two days per week from November 2025 through to January 2026 and is ideal for someone planning to pursue a new graduate physiotherapy position at the hospital.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Delivering delegated physiotherapy interventions under the supervision of a registered physiotherapist
  • Performing clinical activities that align with previous placement experience and proven capabilities
  • Documenting all allocated activities and relevant training in a Clinical Activity Register
  • Participating in supervision and feedback sessions to guide development
  • Identifying and communicating learning needs to support clinical growth

About You

  • A clear understanding of scope of practice and professional responsibility to work within it
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • A commitment to ongoing learning, with a proactive approach to feedback and skill development
  • A flexible and responsive attitude to clinical demands and service needs
  • The ability to follow direction and clinical guidance from supervising physiotherapists
