The Aboriginal Workforce Coordinator plays a pivotal role in driving innovation within our organization by creating an employment program that focuses on attracting, retaining, and developing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in a culturally safe environment.
- This role will collaborate with key stakeholders to update the Aboriginal Employment Plan, incorporating culturally safe practices and aligning with current policy guidelines for attracting and retaining Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals in healthcare workforces.
- The coordinator will implement Bendigo Health's Aboriginal Employment Plan in partnership with key stakeholders.
- They will engage with local educational institutions to promote careers in healthcare among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
- Additionally, this role will seek opportunities to increase the presence of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals in various positions across the organization, including leadership roles.
- The coordinator will provide mentorship and support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, addressing both cultural and professional development needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and support for the professional growth and development of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff.
- Develop and execute strategies to attract and retain Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals in healthcare workforces.
- Culturally guide and support the creation of a safe working environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff.
