You will contribute to safely equipping and sustaining the Australian Defence Force with effective maritime platforms within a complex geopolitical landscape.

This is an opportunity to drive growth and improvement in the management and delivery of Defence's NSS enterprise.

We are seeking Executive Level 2 leaders who can lead strategic, collaborative, consultative and value-adding functions and services to support maritime acquisition and sustainment.

DIRECTORS WILL JOIN A BROAD MANAGEMENT TEAM AND BE REQUIRED TO PROACTIVELY CONTRIBUTE TO LEADING AN NSS ENTERPRISE ORGANISATION AND CULTURAL CHANGE PROGRAM.

Key responsibilities include:

  • LEADERSHIP AND DECISION MAKING: Provide clear direction, set appropriate standards of behaviour, delegate work fairly and motivate others by providing development opportunities and coaching.
  • STRATEGIC SKILLS AND JUDGMENT: Set and develop strategies, translate high-level guidance into practical business outcomes and consistently demonstrate a strong understanding of customer needs and satisfaction.
  • CUSTOMER FOCUS: Gain clear agreement and commitment through persuading, convincing and negotiating, promote ideas on behalf of self or others and effectively use political and departmental processes to influence and persuade others.
  • STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT: Establish sound relationships with customers, stakeholders and staff, build wide and effective networks and manage conflict effectively.
  • DELIVERING RESULTS: Focus on customer needs and satisfaction, set high standards for quality and quantity and consistently achieve project goals.
