Change Manager Position Overview

The primary goal of this role is to ensure that all IT service changes and releases are managed in a controlled manner, aligning with organizational policies, procedures, and plans. This ensures minimal impact on customers.

  • Manage process updates and liaise with clients for improvements, enhancements, and alignment to customer processes.
  • Consult and coach change requesters, coordinators, implementers, and project teams.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing the forward schedule of change across the enterprise or customer enterprise.

Liaison with the customer interface for operational and compliance improvements, including SLA exceptions and Service Improvement Plans.

Responsible for recording, categorizing, documenting, and reviewing all changes, ensuring they are risk assessed, planned, tested, evaluated, and released in a controlled manner.

Validate interfaces with all other service management processes to maintain integration.

Confirm with clients that the Change Management process is fit for purpose.

Maintain a focus on continual prioritized improvement in alignment with client objectives and business needs.

Collect necessary information from CABs and other sources for applicable decision bodies to determine authorization of changes.

Issue Change schedules in relation to each service and keep stakeholders updated regarding progress.

Manage Post-Implementation Reviews (PIRs) and agreed Service Improvement Plans (SIPs).

Drive efficiency and effectiveness of processes by implementing continuous improvement activities.

This role requires adherence to Infrastructure Library (ITIL)

- Experience in IT service management

Desirable Criteria:
- Play a key role in delivery and governance of IT Changes within the Department's IT environments
