
Senior Child Welfare Specialist

Safety is our top priority, and as a Senior Child Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of children and young people. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver statutory child protection services, including assessment, intervention, casework, and case management for complex cases.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver integrated child protection services for complex and sensitive cases in accordance with departmental policies and procedures, statutory responsibilities, and the child protection framework for practice.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, stakeholders, including children, young people and their families, NGOs, service providers, medical professionals, police and others to provide high-quality strength-based child protection practice in complex and sensitive cases.
- Participate and contribute productively as a team member to form culturally appropriate, professional working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, including children, young people and families, Non-Government Organisations (NGOs), and other service providers.
- Maintain high-quality case records in accordance with departmental case management requirements. Prepare quality case management reports.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous learning, training and professional development to ensure practice knowledge and skills are contemporary and evidence-based.
To succeed in this role, you must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and possess excellent problem-solving abilities. You should also have sound knowledge of child protection legislation and policies, as well as experience in delivering statutory child protection services.
