Director of Biological Sciences

About the Role:

The Director of Biological Sciences will lead a multidisciplinary research team to address global challenges in biology and environmental science. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior academic leader with expertise in biological sciences to contribute to the advancement of knowledge and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership to the research team, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes excellence in research and education.
  • Develop and implement research plans, securing funding opportunities and partnerships to drive the school's mission and goals.
  • Recruit and mentor high-calibre researchers, promoting diversity and inclusion within the team.
  • Engage with stakeholders, communicating the value and impact of the school's research to industry, government, and the broader community.
Requirements:
  • PhD in Biology or Environmental Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record of leadership and achievement in academic research and education.
  • Demonstrated success in securing funding and building partnerships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, students, and external partners.
