Category Manager

PETstock Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Category Manager to join our Merchandise team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering customer-focused ranging and promotions to maintain differentiation.
The successful candidate will have a passion for pets, be inspired by growth, and eager to take on new challenges. If you are a strategic thinker with excellent analytical skills, able to draw insights from customer data and present creative solutions, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities- Curate, source, and select products in line with category plans, company vision, and merchandise plans, creating new and exclusive ranges.
- Coordinate ranges and stories within and across categories, ensuring seamless execution.
- Execute timely range reviews to deliver improved commercials, driving business growth.
- Forward plan, negotiate, and confirm 12-month promotional plans, aligning with business objectives.
- Improve supplier delivery performance management in collaboration with the Planning and Supply team, ensuring timely and efficient product delivery.
- Negotiate exclusives and first-to-market opportunities, maintaining current trading terms.
- Implement category business plans to achieve budgeted KPIs, driving business success.
- Manage end-to-end product lifecycle, overseeing product setup and maintenance.
- Support stores with timely communication, enabling them to execute on time and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
- Develop and coach direct reports through performance and development plans, training, and technical skills transfer.
- 3+ years' experience in a similar role, with a tertiary qualification desirable but not essential.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to draw insights from customer data and present creative solutions.
- Demonstrated understanding of inventory management processes, forecasting, and supplier management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in category management, overseas importing, and product development.
