Support Worker Role

This position involves offering emotional support to individuals experiencing a suicidal crisis or who have attempted suicide.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish a supportive relationship with clients, focusing on empowerment and recovery.
  • Provide guidance, encouragement, and motivation to help clients develop skills and confidence.
  • Encourage clients to engage actively with their care team and services.
  • Listen to clients' concerns, joys, and experiences, offering a non-judgmental and empathetic space.
Requirements:
  • Lived experience of suicidal ideation, attempt, bereavement, or close connection to someone who has died by suicide.
  • Ability to utilize lived experience in a trauma-informed manner.
  • Effective communication skills for working with diverse backgrounds, including culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
  • Strong verbal and written skills, including case note writing and evaluation reports.
  • Experience working with children/young people is highly regarded.
