The Role

We are seeking an experienced Production Team Lead to join our team at the Darwin site. As a key member of the operations team, you will play a critical role in driving performance and delivering the GFA strategic plan and site objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Ensure manufacturing plans are executed with precision, adhering to all relevant standards, including safety, quality, GMP, and cost.
  2. Provide leadership and direction to your team, developing them through training and development into high-performing team members.
  3. Foster effective communication mechanisms with other site support functions to ensure seamless collaboration.
  4. Support the development and implementation of OH&S, Hygiene, and Environmental programs for the manufacturing function.
  5. Lead and drive Continuous Improvement initiatives, ensuring RCA processes are followed for downtime, and corrective actions are taken.
  6. Cultivate a culture that prioritizes a safe workplace, preventing injuries and promoting employee well-being.
  7. Ensure all safety, behavioral, and quality incidents are reported and managed according to policies and procedures.
  8. Manage Quality systems to eliminate external product failures and minimize internal quality costs.
  9. Reduce Overhead costs (R&M, Energy, Water) to meet Site Planned costs, while managing direct labor plans to minimize casual workforce usage and absenteeism.
  10. Support plans to minimize process waste through accurate recording and Continuous Improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  1. At least 3-4 years of proven experience in manufacturing.
  2. 2+ years of supervisory experience.
  3. Related industry experience within baking is desirable.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Self-motivated and enthusiastic with a strong work ethic.
  6. Maintain accountability and responsibility within yourself and your team.
  7. Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing.
  8. Food Safety, GMP, HACCP, and regulatory compliance experience.
  9. People Management and Leadership skills.
  10. Regulatory Compliance and HSE knowledge.
  11. Computer skills – Microsoft Office, SAP experience.
  12. Logical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  13. Planning and organizing experience.

What We Offer

A competitive salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience, and opportunities for growth and development within a large FMCG organization.
